Introducing Project 100

There was a moment last month while I was rummaging through my scrapbooking stash when Justin said to me, "Wow, you have a lot of stuff."  Sigh...I totally got called out.  I know that I have quietly accumulated an impressive paper and embellishment stash.  Back in the day when I was actually employed, I more often than not would troll the Scrapbook Steals archives or other stores for a good deal on pretty paper or shiny stickers when work was slow or when I got super stressed.  I suppose I bought a bit more than I can actually use!  Now that I have no paycheck and very little space to keep any of my current supplies, I thought I'd challenge myself to actually make "stuff" before I buy any more "stuff."  A few of my scrapbooking friends have embraced similar challenges to freeze their credit cards and actually create.  So while it might be a bit belated on my part, I am finally jumping on the band wagon.  Enter PROJECT 100.

WHAT IS PROJECT 100?  A personal challenge to create 100 projects (i.e. cards, layouts, albums, etc. before I can buy any more paper, stickers, buttons, etc.).  I will have some exceptions for replacing basic supplies (i.e. adhesive or cardstock) or purchases related to my etsy store.  But other than that, I really want to follow through with this challenge.

So, anyone else want to join me?  Or have you already committed yourself to a similar challenge?  If so, please let me know and I'd love to link up to your blog!  Misery always loves company, right?

Happy Crafting!!!

  1. well, the upside to this is we get to see 100 of your marvelous creations! I'm doing a 50 project challenge that will probably take 50 years to complete with this many little ones running around.

    1. I think a Project 50 sounds lovely! With CHA right around the corner, it's gonna take all I have to stick with Project 100! Good luck!

  3. I'm doing this, but I call it minimalist scrapbooking. Basically, my goal is to use my stash before buying new items. I have similar rules: I can buy new adhesive and replacement tools. The first Friday of every month, I update everyone on my blog with how much I spent and on what the previous month. It's tough, but it is neat to see how you evolve. Now when I do scrapbook shop (and I have since starting my challenge), I have a much better idea of what I do or don't need. For example, last summer I bought a set of red alpha thickers. I didn't realize this was missing from my supplies until I really focused on using my supplies instead of continuing to bring new supplies in to my space.
